This five story, 225,000 sf office building, whose major tenant is the Federal Aviation Administration, was developed privately for the General Services Administration. The site is part of an urban renewal zone on the east edge of downtown Kansas City, and is part of a larger federal and local government complex.

In addition to departmental office space, the building includes a cafeteria, wellness center, training center, credit union, and disaster recovery center.

The materials of the exterior were selected to complement an adjacent 1920’s Carnegie Library. Recessed windows with projecting horizontal sunshades provide passive solar control. Interior finishes include recycled and low VOC materials, a novel concept for the time.
