The Chicago regional offices of the FBI are located in a ten story, 800,000 sf office building west of downtown and near the Illinois Medical District. The project was privately developed and leased back to the General Services Administration with the FBI as a tenant. Great care was given to meet the high level security requirements without creating a fortress in an urban setting.

The main lobby of the office building is framed by a two story high glass wall held in place with a cable net structure for maximum transparency, with expansive views to the neighborhood and the city skyline beyond. An annex building contains vehicle maintenance and forensic laboratories.

The composite steel and concrete structure is clad in a pre-cast concrete and glass curtain wall.
